Injectable Contraception (Depo-Provera)
Often called ‘the jab’, this is very reliable, convenient contraception. The injection is given every 12 weeks into the buttock. You might find your periods are irregular to start with, but they often disappear altogether when you have been using the injection for a few months. One disadvantage is that the effects of the injection can take months to completely wear off after you stop using this method. This needs to be considered if you are thinking about getting pregnant in the next year or so.
